Our Princess is Here!

posted in Uncategorized |

Last Monday at my doctor appointment, my doctor told me I was progressing and she would like to see me again Wednesday morning.  She said I shouldn’t have anything to eat or drink prior to coming in because she thought we would PROBABLY be doing a c-section around noon that day.  So, Paige was such a sweetheart and volunteered to come up and watch the boys that morning while we went to the appointment.  I didn’t take my bags or the camera because I thought for sure I would have time to run home and get them between the appointment and the surgery IF we ended up doing the surgery that day.  Well, I went in at 8:30 in the morning and the doctor said our little baby girl was ready to come and sent us upstairs to the hospital and said she would be up in an hour and a half to deliver her!  Everything moved so fast from that point on.  My mom and Lynn were already on their way from Boise, but were only about to Burley when we found out we would be having her at 10:00.  Everything moved so fast from there.  Nick and I went upstairs and we both changed into our surgery clothes.  Then the nurse asked a bunch of questions and they moved us to the operating room to get the anesthesia.  Before I knew it our wonderful doctor was there and Emma was born at 10:20 am on 02-10-2010!  She weighed 6 lbs. 5 oz.  and was 21 inches long.  I’m not really sure where she got her height from!  Emma is so beautiful and we are thrilled to add her to our family.  She is already on a 4 hour eating schedule and has brought us so much Joy in the last 5 days we can’t even describe it.

My mom and Lynn have taken the boys to Boise for the week so my body can heal, and I can’t begin to tell them how much I appreciate that.  I know they are a lot of work.  Thanks guys!  Also, thank you to Shauna and Steve for taking them for the day today.  You guys are the best.   Nick and I also want to thank everyone in our ward who has helped out with meals this week.  We really appreciate the love and support that we have been shown.  We are tired but so thankful for the 3 beautiful children that the Lord has blessed us with. We hope we can be good parents to them and hope they know how much they are loved.

Congratulations and we love the name! I hope you’ll have some help for a while – the transition to toddler and baby was interesting for me. I think I’m starting to get it after nearly six months. :) Good luck!
