Surprise Getaway!
This last Friday, Nick called me at about 8:00 in the morning from work and said he needed me to do him a favor. He said he needed me to pack bags for the boys and myself because we were dropping the boys off at his brother and sister-in-law’s house and going away for the weekend! I was so excited I could hardly stand it! I had a very difficult time concentrating on what needed to be packed. Nick got off work early and we headed to Utah. I have been needing a break for awhile now. The boys are 2 and I have been trying to potty train them all while being sick from the pregnancy. I have been very stressed out, and I guess my husband recognized that. Anyway, we dropped the boys off to play with their cousins for the weekend and went to Park City. This was my first time there and I didn’t know what we were going to do and I really didn’t care. Friday evening we went out to dinner and just relaxed in our room. On Saturday morning we got up and went to an outlet mall that was right by our hotel. It was huge! Now those of you that know me, know that I really don’t like to shop, but we shopped for 6 hours on Saturday and I had so much fun. Maybe a little too much fun! We got some screaming deals on clothes for all 3 of our children and even a couple things for ourselves. I am so excited about the things we got. Saturday night we stayed at a place called Daniel’s Summit and it was amazing. There was a huge tub in our room, and I really just relaxed the rest of the time we were there. We picked up the boys Sunday afternoon and then had dinner with Nick’s family before we drove back home. I am so grateful for my wonderful husband and his ability to recognize when I need some help. I couldn’t have picked a better man to spend eternity with. I am also grateful to be a mom to these two little turkeys. They are a lot of work but I love them so much and wouldn’t trade staying at home with them for the world. I can’t wait to add child #3 to our family!
